Removal of the chimney breast

Today was a day I have been dreading for quite a while, the removal of the chimney breast! I was expecting dust, noise, mess and for everything to end up completely covered with an inch of dust or soot.
We wrapped most of the house in dust sheets or sealed it with gaffa tape. We removed the stair carpet with the exception of the bottom step, which we covered with gaffa tape! The doors of the rooms not needed were sealed with Gaffa tape or curtains.
When I got home from work the whole chimney breast had gone over the two floors and the chimney stack supported in the loft. There was a skip in the front garden so full no one can really add anything to it and the house is slightly dusty. Really nothing like as bad as I was expecting, so I am pleasantly surprised but very glad we went to the effort to cover and seal so much.
There's more photos dining room here, hall here, back bedroom here, and loft here.
Beth helped with some of the cleaning work. (dressed in her cub scout uniform- very appropriate!)
